About SDG’s overcoming a dirty environment

The aspect that greatly influences the use of plastic materials is the consumption pattern of both individuals and groups, both government and private.  It is undeniable the fact that they also produce and use plastic materials in their daily life.  Coupled with the behavior of economic agents such as businesses, consumers and the public.  As mentioned earlier, participation in the use of plastic does not only come from ordinary people, but economic agents such as businesses are also still using it.

This is the government’s focus in sustainable development activities or commonly known as SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

One of the targets in SDGs goal number 12, namely by 2030 substantially reduce waste production through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse or commonly known as 4R (reduce, reuse, recycle, replace) techniques.

The SDGs themselves actually consist of 17 main goals with each target.  However, in the management of plastic waste, it is included in the goal of SDGs number 12, namely responsible consumption and production.  The objectives listed in number 12 are carried out with the hope that consumers can recycle and reduce waste.

Action to overcome dirty environment

A. Recycling plastic waste

Tackling plastic waste by recycling is one of the most effective ways to reduce waste.  In addition to reducing waste, recycling can turn plastic waste into useful goods.  Such as piggy bank, pencil case, flower pot, etc

1. Collect plastic waste that is usually recycled

Here I collect plastic bottles for recycling. because plastic bottles can be turned into many useful items.  and plastic bottles are also difficult to decompose properly so that plastic bottles will accumulate or be scattered around the environment

2. Turn plastic bottles into useful items

One way to prevent large plastic bottle waste from being wasted is to turn it into a piggy bank.  A piggy bank made from plastic bottles can be used many times without having to buy a new piggy bank. With a piggy bank we can save money.

B. Reforestation

With reforestation, the environment looks beautiful with green forage leaves so that it avoids waste.

1. set aside pocket money to buy plants

By setting aside our pocket money, we usually help the earth full of garbage to buy plants.

2. Planting plants in the environment

Reforestation by planting plants has benefits to beautify the environment.  Besides that,
plants can avoid waste from the environment and can improve the quality of soil that is polluted due to garbage.

C. Using a tote bag when shopping

The community must suppress the use of single-use plastic materials in every daily consumption.  At the very least, start to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags and replace them with tote bags.

Shopping plastic bags are also one of the biggest contributors to plastic waste that is scattered everywhere.  Plastic shopping bags generally can only be used for a few times and eventually have to be thrown away.

Using shopping bags has environmentally friendly properties because it is easy to wash and can be used repeatedly.  While plastic bags can only be used once and then thrown away, causing an increase in plastic waste that is difficult to decompose.

My experience using mindmap

My experience after making a mindmap task about SDG\"s with my group, I can find out what SDG\"s are.  In addition, I got new knowledge and experience of mindmaps.  By using the mindmap application I can also exchange opinions with my group.  Mind mapping also makes me more creative in finding new ideas and is able to improve my ability to imagine, remember, concentrate, take notes, increase interest and be able to solve problems.  Using mindmaps with groups is a very pleasant experience.
